ANPR, or Automatic Number Plate Recognition, uses a camera to read a vehicle registration as it approaches. digiGate can then check whether that number plate is authorised and automatically operate the gate, barrier or bollard without the driver needing to use an app, fob or keypad.
Yes. digiGate can link an ANPR camera to your electric gate so an authorised vehicle can be recognised and granted access automatically.
Everything continues to operate as normal. Images are still taken as well as video clips as everything runs over the local network on site. You can access the management console over local network so administration is never interrupted.
Remote administration will be accessible once the Internet on site returns.
Yes. digiGate is designed to work with existing electric gates, barriers and access control equipment, so the existing gate automation does not need to be replaced.
This depends on the camera position, network connection and gate equipment, but recognition is designed to happen as the vehicle approaches so access can be granted without the driver having to stop.
Yes. Authorised number plates can be added, edited or removed through the digiGate management console, giving you full control over which vehicles are allowed access.
Yes. Number plate access can be limited to specific dates and times, which is useful for visitors, contractors, hotel guests, deliveries and temporary staff.
Yes. Access can be configured to end automatically at a specified date and time, so there is no need to remember to manually remove temporary vehicle access later.
Yes. digiGate records access activity so administrators can review when authorised vehicles used the entrance and which number plate was recognised. It also keeps an image of the vehicle and a video clip too which can be downloaded for auditing purposes.
Yes. ANPR can be used alongside mobile app control, call-to-open, WhatsApp and temporary PIN codes. Different users can use whichever access method suits them best.
Yes. digiGate ANPR can be used across multiple entrances and access points, making it suitable for larger commercial sites, car parks, estates and multi-gate locations.
Yes. Vehicle access can be controlled using schedules so a registration is only authorised during specific times or days.
If the number plate is not authorised, digiGate will not grant access. The event is recorded so administrators can review rejected access attempts where configured. Larger sites can enable event alerts to receive an email when an unauthorised number plate is seen.
Yes. digiGate can integrate with booking and access workflows so number plate access can be created from a reservation and automatically expire when the booking ends.
No. Once a vehicle registration has been authorised, the driver does not need to open an app, carry a remote or enter a PIN. The vehicle itself becomes the access credential.
Yes. ANPR is particularly useful for business parks, hotels, car parks, storage facilities, industrial estates and other locations where vehicle access needs to be controlled without handing out physical remotes or fobs.
