SOUND FAMILIAR?

Problems business parks face

A woman at a desk in a dim office setting, looking stressed while working on a computer. Multiple translucent chat windows with red 'URGENT' headers float around her, requesting gate access changes.

LABORIOUS ADMINISTRATION

Managing access across multiple businesses

Adding and removing staff across multiple businesses creates constant admin for site managers. Every new starter, contractor or departing employee means another request to update gate access permissions, costing you valuable time.

POOR SECURITY & ACCOUNTABILITY

Remotes & pin codes can be shared

Gate remotes can be lost, stolen or copied, while keypad PIN codes are easily shared without permission. This makes controlling access difficult, with little visibility over who opened the gate and no accountability across your business park.

A man sits at a desk in a modern office, working on gate access control system on two computer monitors. Large windows behind him show a rainy evening outside, with reflections on the wet pavement. At the end of the pavement is a closed electric gate.

ADMIN CAN ONLY BE DONE ON SITE

Granting or revoking access shouldn't require a site visit

Staff, tenants and contractors need access at different times, often with little notice. Traditional gate access control can mean programming remotes, changing PIN codes or visiting site just to grant or remove someone's access.

A SIMPLER WAY TO MANAGE ACCESS

How does digiGate help?

Take the administration, security concerns and site visits out of managing shared gates. digiGate gives each business control over its own access, while you retain full oversight of your business park.

1

Let businesses manage their own users

Create a separate group for each business or tenant, setting the maximum permissions and access methods they can use. Each business then manages its own staff, contractors and leavers, removing the day-to-day administration from your team.

Less admin for you. Full oversight of every business.

2

Replace shared remotes and PINs with digital access

Give users individual digital accounts instead of relying on shared gate remotes or keypad PINs. Each business controls who can enter, with configurable access permissions and a clear history of gate activity via the management console.

3

Grant or revoke gate access from anywhere

Add staff, tenants or contractors remotely, even before they arrive on site. Set access schedules and permissions in advance, or remove access instantly when someone leaves. No site visits, collecting remotes or changing shared keypad codes.

Instant changes. No unnecessary site visits.

BUSINESS PARK QUESTIONS

Business park access control FAQs

Can each business manage its own users on a shared gate?

Yes. With digiGate Pro Enterprise, each tenant can have a private group with an authorised administrator who manages their own staff. Businesses cannot see other tenants’ user accounts, while the estate manager retains oversight of the whole site. Explore private groups and user permissions.

What happens when a tenant moves out or an employee leaves?

An authorised administrator can revoke access remotely without collecting remotes or changing a shared gate code. Remove an individual employee’s permission, or withdraw a departing tenant’s group access. This helps keep business park access permissions aligned with the people who still need them. See user access management.

Can different businesses have different gate access hours?

Yes. Set access permissions for individual users or groups, with time restrictions suited to each business. An industrial estate can accommodate office hours, early deliveries and overnight shifts without giving everyone unrestricted access. Permissions can also cover specific dates for temporary staff or contractors. Learn about access times and group permissions.

How can delivery drivers, contractors and visitors access the business park?

Authorised administrators can prepare temporary access for the appropriate gates and visiting period. Depending on your setup, this can use an approved vehicle plate, app access or optional telephone virtual PINs. Virtual PINs are entered during a phone call, so no physical keypad is required. Explore temporary gate access.

Will digiGate work with our existing electric gates and barriers?

digiGate Pro can be added to any existing gate and barrier controls allowing you to retain the automation already installed. Before purchase, we check the controller connections, available power and site layout with you or your installer. View our gate and barrier compatibility guidance.

You do not need WiFi or Ethernet at the gate. The gate receiver communicates wirelessly with the hub up to 600m, which needs internet connectivity for remote functions. ANPR cameras have separate power and networking requirements. See how installation works.

Which digiGate licence does a business park need, and what costs recur?

Enterprise provides the private tenant groups, delegated administration, unlimited users and advanced reporting described on this page. It has a recurring licence charge, while hardware, installation and optional services are identified separately.

Optional ANPR, telephone and messaging services have their own costs, including applicable usage charges. Your proposal sets out the chosen equipment, services and recurring fees before you order. Compare digiGate systems and pricing.

Can one system control multiple gates across an industrial estate?

Yes. A digiGate hub can communicate with additional wireless receivers to control suitable entrances across the same site. We assess distances, obstructions, power and receiver requirements as part of the design. Additional receivers have a hardware cost, but do not require another per-gate software licence within the same hub system.

Explore the digiGate hardware.

Can we review which users or vehicles requested gate access?

Yes. The management console records access requests so authorised administrators can review the account or plate involved, the time and the access method. Enterprise adds reporting and PDF/CSV exports. With the appropriate ANPR setup, vehicle requests can also have linked images and video clips.

These records help investigate queries, but a request alone does not prove who physically entered. Explore access logs and reporting.

What happens if the business park’s internet connection goes down?

Remote app control, telephone and messaging methods depend on the hub’s internet connection. Configured ANPR can continue operating locally while power, the local camera network, hub and gate-control link remain available. The management console can also be accessed over the working local network.

We review the appropriate fallback arrangements for your chosen setup before installation. Learn more about ANPR.

Can staff and drivers use the gates without a smartphone?

Yes. Optional ANPR gate control can authorise registered vehicles without the driver using a phone. Call to Control works with a suitable voice-capable phone, including non-smartphones, where the caller has signal.

For anyone without a suitable phone or registered vehicle, we help agree a compatible alternative or assisted entry process before rollout.
