Can we remove a former employee’s school gate access immediately?

Yes. An authorised administrator can disable or delete the account on site or remotely, via the management console.

Can reports help us find school accounts that should be removed?

Yes. Account exports and dormant user reports help your team review existing permissions against current staff and contractor records.

Can we pause automatic gate schedules for school holidays?

Yes. digiGate supports holiday management and schedule pauses. Simply save the school holiday schedule and all access and timers will re-activate automatically after the holiday ends.

Can staff use the system without a smartphone?

Yes. ANPR can suit schools where approved vehicles can easily access hands free, and Call to Control can use a suitable voice capable phone.

Will digiGate work with our existing electric gates and barriers?

digiGate Pro can be added to any existing gate and barrier controls allowing you to retain the automation already installed. Before purchase, we check the controller connections, available power and site layout with you or your installer. View our gate and barrier compatibility guidance.

You do not need WiFi or Ethernet at the gate. The gate receiver communicates wirelessly with the hub up to 600m, which needs internet connectivity for remote functions. ANPR cameras have separate power and networking requirements. See how installation works.

Can one system control multiple gates across a school?

Yes. A digiGate hub can communicate with additional wireless receivers to control suitable entrances across the same school. We assess distances, obstructions, power and receiver requirements as part of the design. Additional receivers have a hardware cost, but do not require another per-gate software licence within the same hub system.

Can we review which users or vehicles requested gate access?

Yes. The management console maintains a detailed history of all access activity, allowing authorised school administrators to see who requested access, when and how. Enterprise also provides advanced reporting with PDF and CSV exports. With ANPR enabled, vehicle access events can include images and video clips for additional security and accountability.

What happens if the school's internet connection goes down?

Remote access methods such as the mobile app, call-to-open, Virtual Pin Codes & WhatsApp require an internet connection. However, configured ANPR can continue operating locally during an internet outage, provided the school's equipment remains powered and connected. The management console can also remain accessible over the local network.
